Pink Magnolia 2

This is a pink Magnolia which signifies nobility, perseverance, dignity and a love of nature. The magnolia tree is a symbol of magnificence. Magnolia is a large genus of about 210 flowering plant species of the family Magnoliaceae. They are valued for their large and fragrant white, yellow, pink, or purple flowers and frequently handsome leaves and cone-like fruits. They have evergreen or deciduous, alternate smooth-margined leaves. The flowers, usually cup-like, are located at the branch tips and have three sepals, six to 12 petals arranged in two to four series, and many spirally arranged stamens. The seeds, usually reddish, often hang pendulously by slender threads. Magnolia is an ancient genus. Appearing before bees did, the flowers are theorized to have evolved to encourage pollination by beetles. To avoid damage from pollinating beetles, the carpels of Magnolia flowers are extremely tough. The magnolia tree is one of the most ancient flowering trees known to mankind. They are found abundantly in Central America, North America and West Indies.
